Collegium Musicum Returns to Fellowship Hall for “Gathering” on March 3

The Lititz Moravian Collegium Musicum (LMCM), a select ensemble of professional instrumentalists from south
central Pennsylvania and beyond, will return once again to Fellowship Hall on Sunday, March 3 at 7 p.m. for another
captivating musical performance. Continuing its mission to provide a rare glimpse into a distinctive facet of musical
life and culture in early Lititz, this musical time-traveling adventure features rarely heard works edited by Artistic
Director and Conductor, Dr. Jeffrey Gemmell. This program features the “greatest hits” selected from our
previous six concerts and, apart from works performed on the 1787 Tannenberg pipe organ, is an encore performance
of the finale concert presented this past August for the international 8th Bethlehem Conference of Moravian
History and Music in Bethlehem, PA.
Since its resurrection in 2018 as Lancaster County Pennsylvania’s “newest, yet oldest, chamber orchestra,”
audiences have enjoyed these distinctive, informative, and fascinating “gatherings” in the community where it all
began. A variety of genres will reflect the historic and unique nature of the Lititz Collegium Musicum Collection
with overtures, sinfonias, symphonies, minuets, solos, duettos, trios, Parthien (Harmoniemusik), military marches,
vocal works, and more. Composers include Moravians and non-Moravians, such as J. C. Bach, J. Bechler, R. L.
Boccherini, G. Demachi, J. Früauff, H. Grenser, A.Gyrowetz, J. Herbst, W. A. Mozart, J. G. Naumann, W.
Pichl, C. Stamitz, and P. Wranitzky. Audience participation will be energized through hymn singing, and a Museum
and Archives Moment will feature items shared from the congregation’s historic collection. Please join us for this
special event and experience “history you can hear!” Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 per student (cash only)
and will only be sold at the door beginning at 6 p.m. Donations/memorial contributions for this project are
always appreciated and should be sent to the Lititz Moravian Church Office (checks may be made payable to
“LMCM” and identified as such on the front of the envelope). For more information, contact the
congregation’s Director of Music Ministries ( ) or call the church office at 717-626-8515.
