Good Friday, March 30 in Passion Week 2018
2:15 PM – Holy Week Reading Service with silence and with tolling of the Spire bell 33 times at about 3 PM – when Jesus died; following these words from the Gospel: "Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, 'Father, into your hands I commend my spirit!' Having said this, he breathed his last."
These Holy Week (also called Passion Week by the Moravians) daily services include readings from the Readings for Holy Week, a Moravian Church publication, which follows the whole passion narrative from the Gospels. This custom dates to the late 1700s.
