Moravians love to gather to accomplish many things. There is something for everyone to be involved with at LMC:
Moravians have long been enthralled with the use of light, particularly candlelight, to express their belief that Christ came to light the world. Using a special formula of tallow and beeswax, Moravian chandlers have been making candles by hand for generation. Today, this tradition continues with members of Lititz Moravian producing thousands of candles for church services here and for other congregations and for sale at the Lititz Moravian Mission Gift Shop. A group of dedicated chandlers gather weekly during the spring months to make the candles, then gather again in December to trim them. Carl Reist takes the lead in coordinating the making of the candles, while Darlene Bucher organizes the trimmers.
Thursday, March 2 at 7 PM begins the new year of candle making for 2017! Come and help to remove the wicks from all the recycled candles - downstairs in the Christian Education Building.
Weekly Thursday nights at 7 PM beginning on April 20 - come join the fun of beeswax candle making as you assist in creating the glowing wonder of the Christmas Lovefeast Candlelight Vigil services.
